Week 2

A slightly different to normal week this week. We had no maths and literacy lessons due to it being assessment week - not the children's favourite time of year but they sat and worked on their tests with minimal complaints so well done to them all. The afternoons we tried to make as active and as practical as possible to give them a break from the sitting and working in silence. We had a visitor to teach a REAL pe lesson which the children loved, we designed our own vertebrate species and investigated how our muscles work, explored and identified the features of food packaging, played ultimate frisbee and designed chariots for the Romans to race.

It was also book week. The children were fully engaged in this and it was lovely to see how excited about their books they all were. We had a daily reading and sharing sessions with either year 6 or EYFS which everyone enjoyed and positively participated in. Friday was  dress up day - Super costumes everyone! We wrote original stories using our world book day characters and also completed lots of book inspired activities like top 5's and front cover designs.
