Week 4

Another week of hard work and fun in year two!

We have been reading and creating haiku poems in year two. We worked in a group initially to create haikus about the seasons before reading them out beautifully to our class mates.

In maths we have been tackling time! We looked at o clock and half past but were hugely challenged by quarter past and to. More time next week! See if you can read the clock at home this weekend at certain times during the day.

We were treated to three afternoons of visitors this week with the PCSO visit on Monday to hear about road safety. Some interesting discussions were had around safe car travel. Hopefully your child can tell you all about it!

We welcomed Florence Nightingale to our school hall on Monday. She told us all about her life from birth to being elderly and the wonderful work she carried out so graciously. She was very strict and even got us fulfilling nurse duties!

On Wednesday we had a lovely Godly play session with Mrs Russell. We enjoyed our special time reflecting on the story of Jonah and the Whale.

I hope your children have been sharing the super events of the week and you have a great weekend.
