Computing

Computing at High Wycombe Church of England Combined School

Our vision for Computing is rooted in our Christian ethos, inspired by Joshua 1:9: "Be strong and courageous." We aim to nurture pupils who approach the digital world with confidence, curiosity and integrity, showing compassion and respect for others in all online interactions. As they navigate the challenges and opportunities of technology, children are encouraged to persevere with hope, forgive mistakes both their own and others', and use their skills to promote peace and kindness. We strive to equip all learners to use technology thoughtfully and purposefully, becoming courageous digital citizens who use their gifts to serve and uplift their community and the wider world.

The aim of our Computing curriculum is to develop digitally literate, responsible and creative learners who are equipped to thrive in an ever-changing digital world. We want all pupils to use technology confidently and respectfully, understanding how digital systems work and how to stay safe online. Through a broad and balanced curriculum, children develop skills in coding, data handling and digital communication, enabling them to solve problems, express ideas and collaborate effectively. Our teaching fosters curiosity, critical thinking and ethical awareness, preparing pupils to be competent, confident and caring digital citizens who can contribute positively to their community and the wider world.
