Science at High Wycombe Church of England School

At High Wycombe C of E, we are inspired by God’s love for us, to be strong and courageous, taking on challenges, knowing that He is with us. We provide a safe and supportive environment for all pupils to flourish in Science.

We offer a varied and stimulating curriculum to ensure that all pupils progress through a fully inclusive Science curriculum. Science is essential for understanding the world God has created and, with this in mind, the purpose of Science at High Wycombe C of E is to develop:

• competence and confidence in exploring, investigating, and applying scientific knowledge, concepts, and skills

• curiosity and a passion for discovering how and why things happen in the natural and physical world

• an ability to ask questions, plan and carry out investigations, interpret results, and draw conclusions based on evidence

• initiative and motivation to work both independently and collaboratively in scientific enquiry

• confident communication of scientific ideas, using accurate vocabulary to explain, discuss, and evaluate findings

• an ability to make connections between scientific learning, other areas of the curriculum, and the wider world
