    Inclusion Vision Statement

At High Wycombe Church of England School, we believe every child is a unique and valued individual, created in the image of God. Guided by our Christian vision, “Be strong and courageous”, we are committed to creating a fully inclusive school where all children are welcomed, supported, and empowered to flourish.

We celebrate diversity and actively promote equality of opportunity for every member of our school community, regardless of background, ability, need, faith, or identity. Inclusion is at the heart of all we do: every child is seen, heard, respected, and able to participate fully in school life.

Our approach centres on adaptive, high-quality teaching that responds to the needs of individual learners. Teachers use ongoing assessment to identify needs, address misconceptions, and adjust teaching, resources, and the classroom environment to ensure every child can access and engage with the curriculum.

For pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we focus on early identification, close collaboration with families, and a graduated approach tailored to individual strengths and needs. We work alongside external professionals to secure the right support and empower all staff to understand and meet the needs of pupils with SEND.

We also recognise and value the rich contributions of pupils who are learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). Targeted support develops both academic and social language, enabling every child to communicate confidently and achieve their full potential. We celebrate bilingualism and the linguistic and cultural diversity it brings to our school.

Through our inclusive ethos, compassionate relationships, and a curriculum designed to meet the needs of all learners, we prepare our children to succeed academically and to grow as empathetic, respectful individuals who make a positive difference in the world.
