The impact of our Religious Education curriculum is that pupils at High Wycombe Church of England School are religiously literate and able to hold balanced and well-informed conversations about religion, belief and worldviews. They are equipped with the knowledge, understanding and skills to reflect deeply, think critically and live respectfully with others in a diverse society.
Through RE, our pupils develop:
Secure knowledge of Christianity as a living faith, alongside other principal religions and non-religious worldviews represented in Great Britain.
The ability to make links between beliefs, practices and values, and to recognise how these influence individuals, communities and cultures.
Skills of enquiry, analysis, interpretation and evaluation, enabling them to ask and explore big questions of meaning and purpose.
Respect, empathy and appreciation for the beliefs and perspectives of others, while being confident to articulate their own ideas clearly and thoughtfully.
A sense of identity and belonging, developed through reflecting on their own beliefs and values and learning to contribute positively to the school, the local community and the wider world.
Our children leave High Wycombe C of E with the wisdom, knowledge and courage to engage in meaningful dialogue with people of all faiths and none, and with the character to flourish as thoughtful, compassionate and resilient individuals.
