    Supporting Your Child at Home

At High Wycombe CofE Combined School, we are committed to supporting every child’s learning and development, both in school and at home. On this page, parents and carers will find a range of recommended websites, links to support services, and useful documents to help you support your child outside of school.

If you discover additional resources that may benefit other families, please let us know by emailing: office@highwycombecombined.bucks.sch.uk. We value your input and strive to provide the best support for all our pupils.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

We are dedicated to meeting the needs of all children recognised as having SEND. Our approach includes:

    • Regular meetings with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support.

    • Open communication: If you would like to discuss your child’s needs, please contact Mr Smith via the school phone line or by email senco@highwycombecombined.bucks.sch.uk.

Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans

Some children at our school have Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. These plans specify the level of support required, which does not always mean 1:1 adult attention at all times. The allocation and deployment of staff are at the school’s discretion, based on individual needs and the professional judgement of our staff.

If you have questions about EHC plans or the support your child receives, please contact Mr Smith for more information.

    Our Curriculum and Learning Environment

We aim to deliver a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum, ensuring every child can achieve their full potential, regardless of ability or starting point. Our curriculum and learning environments are carefully adapted to reflect the diverse needs of our pupils.

    To support all learners:

    • Our classrooms are designed to be welcoming and supportive, avoiding overstimulation or overwhelming displays.

    • Displays are purposeful and relevant to current learning, created in collaboration with the children each year.

    • We celebrate pupils’ achievements while maintaining a calm and focused environment that prioritises access to key learning resources.

If you would like to learn more about our approach to SEND or our inclusive curriculum, please get in touch with the school office.
