Our first week back after half term meant Alternative Sports! This time we learnt more about ultimate frisbee. We practiced our frisbee throwing and catching skills and, having watched a video of players playing the actual sport, we decided to give it a go too! We were joined by some of the Year 6s. It was great fun!
It was also World Book Day. We enjoyed coming into school in mufti and many of us loved dressing up as our favourite book characters. Can you guess who we all are?
As part of our celebration of World Book Day, we joined in with a live lesson broadcast across the internet - along with thousands of other children across the country.
These were our favourite costumes - voted for by the class - each earned the wearer an amazing Golden Ticket!
On Friday it was International Day. We celebrated the culture of Russia by making and designing Russian Dolls. We talked about the terrible war in the Ukraine and thought about how sad it was that there are so many people in Russia who are against it and who are powerless to stop their leader from making decisions. We decided that war should not stop us appreciating a country's traditions and culture. In the afternoon, we learned all about Argentina and learned how to draw a cartoon picture of the footballer - Lionel Messi. He is thought of as a national hero by the people of Argentina where football is a very popular sport.
