Week 3
Literacy
We have been expanding our range of traditional tales and read the story of Cinderella. The children then explored different themes in the story and shared how some of these themes occurred in the tale.
Maths
This week our focus in maths our focus has been data handling. The children revised making a tally and then unmaking and interpreting pictograms.
Year 2s sharing assembly
On Monday, Year 2 performed an assembly to share with the other children what we have been learning about across the curriculum. We shared some of our alternative tales from Literacy, what we know about fractions in maths and finally some of our painting skills in art. We demonstrated how to use our paintbrush to show textures, how to make a colour gradually lighten and how colour can express emotions and feelings.
