Week 6

This week has been a busy and festive one.

In English, we have been exploring poetry and learning all about figurative language. We have been developing our vocabulary and creating poems based on winter and Christmas.

The slender evergreen stood strong while holding its head high,

The twinkling tinsel hugged his best friend without hesitation,

The scarlet stockings hung in tidy rows watched over the presents,

The raging fire danced and reached the peak of the chimney,

The illuminous star bragged joyfully to the other decorations below.

We have all discovered a love for the acapella band Pentatonix - as we have now perfected our Christmas dance routine, we worked in groups to create a routine in PE this week. We danced to their version of ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ check them out on Spotify or YouTube! In our outdoor session for PE this week, we had our house competition which was themed around football. Well done to the surfers and riders who came joint first.

Our Christmas decorations for the church tree are under production and they are looking good - the children have also made some wonderful Christmas cards. On Tuesday, we enjoyed a Christmas lunch together and are looking forward to our party next week.
