Citizenship Project

As part of Year 3's Citizenship project the class went to The Caribbean Elderly Hairoun Day Centre.

The Caribbean Elderly Hairoun Day Centre is a charity run day centre, which has been in existence for over 20 years. It is open to clients Monday to Thursday, providing transport where possible and freshly cooked meals. It caters for all elderly people in the community irrespective of race or religion.

Whilst at the centre we had the opportunity to speak to many people who have origins in St Vincent's (Our International Country and one of our Geography topics). This was a brilliant opportunity for the children to find out information about St Vincent's first hand.

The children sang 'All things bright and beautiful' excellently and brought many smiles to the centres clients with their enthusiasm to lean.
