Week 1
In Literacy this week we have started looking at instructions. The children have been giving each other instructions to create simple drawings and collect items whilst blind folded to figure out what makes a good set of instructions. They have also made woolly mammoths using rubbish instructions in order to see the importance of them being clear and detailed.
Maths has started with place value. The children have used practical equipment to represent numbers and shown a clear understanding of the topic that they can apply to problem solving questions.
In other areas; they produced Stone Age cave paintings (messy classroom but the work looks great), investigated what makes things move in science, in art we created display work based on the story of creation, held school council elections and played Lacrosse in PE.
