Week 1
Literacy
This week we are basing our Literacy lessons around the story of Paddington. The children went out on a hunt outside to read clues about who our mystery character would be and try to piece them together. We have used adjectives to describe Paddington and his character.
Maths
In maths this week our focus has been place value. We have recapped identifying and representing two digit numbers but also considered alternative ways to do this. Some children even tried to locate a number on a blank number line. Super work Year 2!
RE
Our focus this term in RE is Kindness. We talked about a scenario where somebody had been unkind and we had a fantastic role model who volunteered and pretend to be the character. In the meantime the other children suggested things that could be done to rectify the situation.
Geography
We have begun to look at the different continents around the world. We listened to a song in the classroom, hummed it and then sang it outside so some other children from year 1 could hear.
