Week 3

Friendship and fairness

For our first day we wanted to pay a particular focus to the children and consider their happiness and wellbeing.  For one of our sessions, we read the story ‘The Worker in the Vineyard.’  The children worked together in teams and role played the story whilst paying attention to some values such as respect, friendship and fairness.

Maths

We revisited time and shape this week in maths for a bit of revision.  We made sure we got in some of active minutes but also explored the properties of 2D shapes and discussed the differences between 2D and 3D shapes.

Literacy

This week in Literacy we started to look at the book 'Fantastic Women who changed the World.'  We looked for some technical vocabulary in the text, thought about its definition and created some freeze frames for each one.

Playground Games

This week we took advantage of some of the good weather and played a varied of games to develop some of our skills.  We considered spatial awareness, listening, fairness but what was really highlighted was communication between each other.  The children improved so much in their communication skills and were absolutely superb.
