Making chocolate cheesecakes

Year 6 had a brilliant time at Bucks New Uni today! We learnt about different degrees they have on offer, played lots of fun games and had an amazing tour around the campus. We were able to see their sports facilities, a recording studio, the library and a mock-medical suite.

Year 6 have been busy over the last two days in D.T. They have been chopping, slicing, dicing, juicing, kneading and frying! We were inspired by our history topic of the Maya and made our own chicken fajitas - including making our own tortillas and guacamole!

We had a brilliant day learning all about Brazil. We got to make some traditional Brazilian cheese bread and pastry which were delicious!

Year 6 were very lucky to have two local magistrates come in to talk to the class. We learnt what magistrates do in court as well as look at some of the crimes they might charge someone with. Finally, we held our very own mock triial!

Year 6 have worked incredibly hard this week with their SATs and have celebrated their accomplishment with rounders and bowling. Well done to all the class, you have worked brilliantly!

Year 6 were learning about the circulatory system in science, and the different functions of blood. We made a model of blood using red water beads, white ping pong balls and pipe cleaners. Can you figure out what each of these represent?

Year 6 continued with their courageous advocacy project by weeding our school grounds and planting some bulbs. We can't wait to see them grow into flowers!

Year 6 had a brilliant time at the Air Raid Shelter Café. We got to see lots of memorabilia as well as eat delicious cake.

Year 6 had a fascinating time at the Lincolnsfield Centre - learning all about WW2! We experienced being in a WW2 classroom, being in an air raid shelter, as well as learning about home life during WW2!

Year 6 had a brilliant time reading to the residents at Shelburne Lodge. As part of World Book Day, it was amazing to share some of our favourite books with our local community!

Year 6 were hard at work solving puzzles and problems for NSPCC number day.

In our Science lesson, Year 6 were exploring how mirrors work in a periscope. We learnt how images reflect off of the mirror and into our eyes.

Year 6 have continued with their photography skills, this time creating their own album covers! We experimented with different contrasts, expose and composition when editing.

Year 6 were budding photographers today. We were inspired by the work of Edward Weston and took macro monochrome images of different fruit and vegetables.

We had lots of fun on our Computing Curriculum Day exploring the python code using Code Combat!

We have been busy sewing our Christmas stockings!
