W/C - 13th Sept

This week in Maths we have been working on using the column method to add and subtract numbers that have up to 3 digits. We worked hard to get to grips with, and use, the vocabulary of exchanging and regrouping; as well as making sure our digits line up under the correct column values!

Using our Literacy text, Joan Procter Dragon Doctor, we looked at the structure and purpose of biographical writing, which helped us to get to grips with the use of headings and subheading in the writing of information texts.

In History we are continuing our learning about the Anglo Saxons and Vikings and tying this in with our Geography topic to learn more about where these groups chose to settle and set up home!

Our topic in RE is Sacred texts and after considering what items may be very special and important to us, we thought about other religions' sacred items. In Cross-curricular writing we then used this knowledge to compose an Acrostic poem using the word 'SACRED'.

Our Alternative PE this term was playing a game of Lacrosse! We practised our step and scoop technique to cradle to ball and carry it across the playground and in the game 'Rob the Nest'!
