Week 1

For International Day, we looked at Denmark and, as well as learning all about the country and completing fact-files of information, we learned about one of its most famous inhabitants - the great writer of fairy stories - Hans Christian Andersen. We watched film clips about him and re-designed the covers of some of his most well-known stories.

In Geography, for our 'Volcanoes' topic, we conducted a science investigation to see if thicker 'lava' flowed more quickly than less thick lava. It did!

In Games, we have started to practise cricketing skills by improving our fielding.

In Literacy we are studying the book 'Zoo' by Anthony Browne. We used drama to create these freeze-frames from the book which we felt highlighted the feelings of bot the humans and the animals in the story.
