Week 4

This week the children have been recording their part of the harvest festival. We went up Tom Burts Hill and recorded the poem and prayer - the children responded well to the challenge of being heard over the wind and surrounding noises. Stay tuned to see the full performance.

In Literacy we have continued to explore and write newspaper reports. We looked at news paper reports in First news, identified the use of features and completed comprehension questions to explore these further. The children then planned and wrote their own reports based on well know fairy stories or nursery rhymes.

In Maths we have been looking at fractions - a tricky topic but everyone tried their best and made progress throughout the week.

In other subjects, we had another session with the netball coach working on passing and footwork, wrote diary entries from the point of view of a Child living in Ancient Rome or Sparta, put all aspects of our designs for our Ancient Greek pottery together to create a final design, investigated insulators in Science and made peace doves which are now flying in our prayer area.
