First few days back

Myself, Mrs Wells, Mrs Thomas and Mr Burgin have been delighted to welcome the Year 3 children back to school; we are exceptionally proud of the way that they have settled back, learning new routines. This week has all been about getting to know one another, remembering all the school rules, routines and our Christian Values, learning playground games, Growth mindset and PSHE. On Friday, we had our Brain awareness day; the children learnt about: left and right brain, thinking brain and what are the best ways to learn. When the children explored 'thinking', they were given the question: 'if they had 3 wishes for the world what would they be?' We had some lovely responses, three examples were of there wishes were: for the world to be a better place (Toba), for there to be no covid-19 (Kiera) and For poor people to have more money (Ebenezer). Finally, we learnt how to count to 10 in Japanese to practice our kinesthetic, auditory and visual learning skills.

Next week, we are beginning our to follow our full timetable, which you can see on this class page. In maths we will be covering the topic of place value and in literacy we will be looking at the book 'How to wash a woolly mammoth' to support our writing of instructions.

Have a lovely weekend!
