Harvest Festival 2022
This year, we are raising money for the One Can Trust, which is a charity that supplies food to families in need. In order to raise money for this charity, the school put on the Harvest Festival at All Saints church and each class performs songs, poems and prayers.
This is our harvest prayer:
As we celebrate and give thanks for our blessings at Harvest, this prayer helps us also to remember those who do not have such good things.
When we hear the gentle sound of the rain watering the earth,
help us to remember the thirst of those whose land is dry.
When we buy the fruit of the world's harvest,
help us to remember the hunger of those whose basket is empty.
When we enjoy the ease of communicating around the world,
help us to remember those who are isolated from their friends.
When we relax in times of rest,
help us to remember those who have to work without stopping.
When we celebrate our blessings at harvest time,
help us remember those whose homes are affected by natural disasters.
May this prayer remind us of Jesus’ commandment to love others as we love ourselves and a way in which we can do so is through our giving and our sharing this harvest time and always.
Amen.
