A very exciting Spring term is almost over. We have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the Romans, and particularly enjoyed Peter's visit! He turned our classroom into our own Roman museum without the glass cases! We could touch all of the artefacts (except the things on the 'dangerous table'!!) and try on real Roman armour, chainmail, helmets and sandals. We loved blowing on the horns that were used to contact neighbouring towns, and we learned just how clever the Romans were at inventing some of the things we take for granted today! There were also hands on activities such as writing with a quill, spinning wool to make a bracelet, rubbings taken from wooden carvings, and striking coins!
Please take a look at all our pictures from this exciting day below.
