Vision

PE is an area of the curriculum that we are extremely passionate about.  Through physical activity, we support the children to develop a variety of skills, cooperate as a team or strive independently and find enjoyment with various sports and games.   We embed physical activities into as many of the other curriculum subjects as possible across the school to allow for memorable experiences.

Our aim in PE is for all children to understand the benefits of physical activity and how it can support physical and mental wellbeing.  Our objective by the end of key stage two is to be able to provide each child with a multitude of knowledge and skills of how they can support their physical and mental health.

In Key Stage Two, we support the children in swimming lessons and aim for them to be able to swim 25 metres.  We aim is to support them in achieving this before they finish their primary education.

Physical literacy is a crucial element in our vision.  We consider how to motivate each individual, provide him or her with all the knowledge they need to maximise their potential, ensure they have various skills that can be adapted to the physical activity they are participating in and finally help them to feel confident and happy with what they are doing.
