Week 1

What a fun first week back! We have looked at lots of wonderful holiday home work, had our fabulous school trip and international day.

The weather was kind to us and the children had a great day at mop end. The sounds of oooos and ahhhs around the pond and in the woodland was delightful to hear. A great experience was had by all, observing, classifying and sorting the living things discovered in their habitats. Please see the link on class page for school trip/summer photos.

On Friday we had our termly international day. KS1 looked briefly at Iceland, Madagascar, Antarctica and Singapore. We really did venture far in three hours! If you would like to see the photos from these, please go to the curriculum tab and international day links.

In maths, we have been continuing to revise 2d and 3d shape. We played various games to develop our ability to describe them. Can you spot any shapes and think about what vertices, edges, lines of symmetry they have this week?

in Literacy, we wrote a persuasive letter to a headteacher to persuade them to let their year two class go to mop end. The children are certainly able to argue a point!
