Week 1
A tiring first full week back but full of things to keep everyone going.
In literacy we have begun looking at myths - the children create freeze frames for parts of the story, identified the key features and wrote their own setting descriptions.
In maths we have returned to place value. The children all did really well at this and it was great to see how much they have remembered. We ordered and compared up to 4 digit numbers and started to work on reasoning problems to apply our knowledge.
In other news:
We have started our Roman topic in history and created a timeline to order the main events. We have all learned where South America is in the world and identified countries on a map in geography. In art we created our own mosaics and recorders were picked back up in music. In alternative PE we had a go at Quidditch - the children really enjoyed this and it was an exciting game that was different to the usual sports.
