In literacy we have started our new topic on performance poetry. The children all had a go at learning a poem in groups to perform to the other children. They then wrote their own version of a poem - a magical box filled with exciting and mysterious things.
In maths we returned to look at money. Lots of role playing and practical application with coins and shopping tasks. They all did really well and gained a good understanding of using money and began to apply this knowledge to problem solving.
In other news:
We looked at Boudicca's rebellion against the Romans and wrote her final speech or a diary entry of her final battle, we researched the trades and exports from countries in South America and in our new gymnastics topic the children came up with interesting ways to travel around a space.
Friday was international day. An exciting day that all the children really enjoyed. They were mixed across the year groups and all visited different teachers and classrooms to learn about different countries. A fun filled day with lots of different activities - see the international day page for more photos and info.
