Week 1

In Literacy this week we have focused our lessons around the story of That Bunny Belongs to Emily Brown by Cressida Cowell.  We have carefully thought about the change of emotions throughout the story, new vocabulary we have never heard of and creating freeze frames from the main highlights in the story.
Our maths lessons this week have focused around money.  We have recapped identifying the different values of coins and notes, making values of money, partitioning it into pounds and pence and finally comparing different values.
We began this terms REAL PE looking at the cog Creative.  We used different objects and parts of our body to move at different speeds and heights.  Here are some of our photos from this week.

International day

We had a fantastic time for this terms international day.  In the Year 2 classroom we focused on Hong Kong, Germany and our link school Uganda.  Whilst learning about Honk Kong we looked at many of their traditions and influences, including the importance of the Chinese New Year festival.  The children made some fantastic masks too.  Our focus on Germany was learning to speak the numbers 1-10.  We then had a very fun game of bingo! To finish our day, we discussed the schools link to St Michaels school in Uganda.  We discussed the meaning of 'traditions' and looked at some British traditions and those from other countries.
