Week 1
The children have settled into Year 3 remarkably well, learning new routines and getting stuck into their formal lessons. This week in maths they have have been building upon their knowledge of place value and focusing on their 2 times table. In literacy, the focus has been instructional writing. The children have enjoyed beginning their non-core topics, including the stone age, basketball and percussion instruments.
As a class, the children have had assemblies, where the focus has been our Christian Value of the month 'Thankfulness'. They have been asked to create a poster, poem or prayer related to our Christian Value for homework and I look forward to seeing what they do next week.

Literacy lesson - giving and following instructions
Maths - place value - in our first lesson we reminded ourselves about ordering and which number was greatest
PE lesson - we looked at our learning cog 'social' and then we also tried to run the mile!
