Welcome back! We are already in to the Summer term! 

This term in Literacy we have started off by learning about a style of poetry called Narrative poetry. We have looked at a couple of examples this week, ahead of writing our own next week! At the beginning of the week we did some drama to tell the story in a poem we had read - have a look at the videos below! 

In Maths this week we have been working on place value and rounding numbers using the rhyme, "5-9 climb the vine, 0-4 slide to the floor!" (as if we are monkeys!) to help us remember the rule for rounding up or down. 

Our topic in History this term is the Tudors, while in Geography we are becoming more familiar with the UK and learning about some UK counties. In Science we are learning about states of matter and will be investigating solids, liquids and gases as well as process such as evaporation.

For our Games lessons this term we are very fortunate to have Wycombe Wanderers coaches in school to teach us some football skills! It's very exciting to have visitors in school and we have enjoyed our first session and are looking forward to the next! 

At the end of this first week we had our Brain Awareness Day. This day was dedicated to learning more about how our memory works and how we can improve our short and long term memories. We played memory games and created some work for our brain awareness display in the classroom!
