Week 1
Everyone has had a great start to year 5 and we are all adjusting well to the changes.
We are straight into this years curriculum and have been looking at Character descriptions in Literacy using the book: Who let the gods out? The children (and adults) are loving the story so far. They wrote some excellent character descriptions based on a horrible neighbour that they designed themselves.
In Maths we have started our year with place value; reading, writing, ordering and comparing numbers to 1 million.
In other news...
We held class council elections- the children were great at putting themselves forward and selling themselves as great class representatives. We made a book blanket and discussed the books we are currently reading, in History we wrote about the Trojan war, we practiced different passing techniques in netball, looked at materials used around school in Science and sketched Greek pots in Art.
