It has been lovely to see the children who have returned with lots of energy after the break - invigorated for the last half term in Year One!
In Literacy, we have returned to looking at narrative. We have read different versions of 'The Princess and the Pea' and the children have sequenced and retold the story as well as looking at characters feelings at various points in the story.
We have begun looking at numbers to 100 in maths and considering the place value of each digit in a range of ways. Children have shown lots of promise with this. We will continue comparing and ordering numbers to 100 next week using the symbols < , > and =.
The curriculum has been alive with the other subjects too with labeling parts of the body in Science, considering actions to help us remember the food groups in PSHE and starting athletics in PE.
Friday was a superb end to this busy week - the children (and adults) enjoyed exploring a trip to China and Mexico! We read about cultures of the children in St Michael's, our link school. They explained how they show respect to their elders by kneeling in front of htem. We considered how we show respect in our culture and made posters to share some ideas.
