Week 1

We have had a busy week back after the Easter holidays. The children have enjoyed being back in school and sharing what they had done when not in school.

In Literacy, we are reading 'We're Going on a Lion Hunt' by David Axtell. This is similar to the well known 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' but is instead set in Africa. This week we went on our own animal hunt around the playground- finding some of Africa's big 5. We then practiced writing some descriptive sentences about these animals. In Maths, we have been recapping the 2s, 5s and 10s times table before we move onto multiplication next week.

In Alternative PE, the children had a go at archery! In our other PE lessons, we are improving our multi skills with balls and rackets- leading up to playing Tennis.

Friday was Brain Awareness Day, and the children had the opportunity to buddy up with Year 4 for some activities during the day. The focus of the day was the memory and ways to improve our memory.
