Week 2
This week in Literacy we have started our new unit of different stories by the same author. The author we will be exploring this half term is Julia Donaldson. We have been developing reading her stories with expression and identifying the rhyming words. We worked together in groups to make up and perform alternative endings. We wrote questions to the witch and finally we created a story board to sequence the main events.
In Maths we have been practising our addition skills. We explored finding related facts so understanding that if 1+9=10, 10 + 90= 100. We also started to develop our understanding of number bonds to 100 which was a real challenge! When finding 10 more and 10 less we learnt that the ones digit stays the same in a two digit number.
The highlight of of our week was definitely our DT making vehicles afternoon. Thank you to the parents who gave up their time to help. We couldn’t have done it without you! We are looking forward to stage two - finishing their appearance.
