Week 2

11th - 15th November

This week the children have been put through their paces and have worked very hard during assessments. I have been very impressed with their resilience and how supportive they have been of one another.

In swimming, it was water safety week. All the children had the opportunity to feel what it was like to be in water with clothes on, floating on their back in the help position.

As as it is anti- bullying week, the children have been exploring this years slogan ‘change starts with us’. They have talked about feeling safe in school and everyone agreed that we shouldn’t tolerate anyone being unkind to one another at our school. If this does happen, children were equipped with ways to get support. In addition, we explored the importance of keeping safe online, respecting one another’s privacy and what to do if we don’t feel safe. Please see our PSHE page on the website for photos of the posters we made to promote change.

Friday, children were allowed to come into school in whatever they felt comfortable in, as part of our fundraising for Children in Need. Thank you for all the donations, I am sure that Y6 will share the final total raised with us in due course.

Next week, the children will be looking at writing a newspaper article in English. In Maths, they will be exploring perimeter and area of rectilinear shapes.

Have a good weekend!
