Whilst making every effort to wash our hands, we have had lots of fun with our learning this week in year one!
In maths we have been investigating finding half and quarter of shapes, objects and quantities.
Inspired by Monty in the picture book ‘Monstersaurus’ we invented our own monsters in literacy and will be writing our instructions next week for anyone else that would like to make one like ours!
It has been delightful to hear the recitals of poems this week and we look forward to hearing the ones we ran out of time for next week! Thank you for your support with this.
We have started our new unit in art and were mesmerised by moulding Clay this week; The room was so peaceful during the session! We expanded on the shapes we have been creating in gymnastics to beginning to develop sequences. We continued learning about the changing seasons in science and how the leaves change.
Book week and World book day itself was of course a highlight with visiting storytellers, a reading den, buddy readers and bookmark making as well as thinking about the wonderful characters that authors have invented.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
