Week 2

What a busy week! It's gone so quickly. We are already 2 weeks into our final term at the school where most of us have spent the last 7 years!

In Literacy this week, we have been continuing our study of the poem - 'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyes. The class have produced some incredible diary entries written as one of the poem's characters. (More on that next week when we 'publish' in their presentation state.

In Maths, we have been working on adding and subtracting fractions (important revision for us).

In Science, we looked at the dangers of drugs - an important life lesson.

In Geography, we finished our mini projects on mountains (see photos).

We had a great discussion about Islam and how Muslims try to lead a good life in RE.

We carried on 'building' our houses in Computing.

In Design & Technology, we are nearly at the end of the planning stage and almost ready to begin to build our model World war 2 Anderson shelters.

In Games, we practiced the triple jump - a real challenge for us all.

In PE we reached stage 12 of our warm up (still plenty more to go) and then refined our skills in playing 'Throw Tennis'

Furthermore, we began creating posters to highlight the plight of those in St Vincent who have been effected by the volcanic eruption. (We hope that we can collect more resources than any other class in the school to send to them to help them overcome the terrible situation they are in)

Phew - we really welcome the 3 day Bank Holiday weekend!

Back on Star Wars day - May the 4th be with you!
