Week 3

In Literacy this week we have been looking at ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’. We started off with thinking about people we have had round to tea and linking the ideas in the story to our own experiences. We also wrote invitations and retold and sequenced the story. Our independent challenge was to write a shopping list which we made some great efforts with.

In Maths we have been exploring ways of adding by counting objects altogether, counting on, the part-whole model and number sentences. Understanding the = sign fully is something we will continue to work on as it was a real challenge understanding that 8 + 2 = 10 is the same as 10 = 2 + 8 for example.

In Science we were very lucky to have a visit from Mrs Lyon. We went outside with her to see what we could discover with our senses in this season.
