Week 3

In maths this week we have been looking at lengths in cm and metres.  The children have worked hard to compare lengths (even looking at some converting) and ordering different lengths using <, > and = in multiple step number sentences.

Literacy

Moving on from looking at the features of some traditional tales, we have started to look at stories with a twist.  This week we focused on Cinderfella.  The children really enjoyed this story and found it very entertaining.  We looked at sequencing it in the correct order and then retelling the story after some of it was taken away from them.  I apologise as I forgot to take any photos this week but will try better next week.

We had a fabulous time on our trip to High Wycombe's Fire Station.  With it being a emergency services we weren't able to stay for a very long period of time, but the time we did have there was very educational.  The children asked lots of valuable questions, were able to explore the different equipment on the vehicles and were able to sit inside.    One of the fire men even asked who has a parent who might of used their phone while driving.  The photo with the children's hand up reveals the answers!

A special thanks to Mrs Whitcombe, Mrs Russel and Mrs Stott who accompanied us on our visit.  It was really appreciated and we wouldn't of been able to do it without you.

For our alternative PE session we played a game of Quidditch.  We started off by practising our catching and throwing skills before we started.  The children we great at passing and making the most of being part of a team.
