Week 3

We have had a busy week in Hawks class this week, with lots of fantastic work being produced!

In Maths this week we were learning about multiplication and using the grid method to multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. Some of us even moved on to 3-digit by 1-digit! We finished off the week by learning about division and how we can use a number line to help us work out division problems. This included working in teams to create one long number line using our whiteboards to work out division questions as a group.

In Literacy this week we have been learning about how to write discussion texts, presenting balanced arguments and then wrote our own on Friday. We were writing about whether Lila in our book The Firework Maker's Daughter should be allowed to be a firework-maker or not. It turns out we all have different opinions on it!

On Tuesday we had our hockey coach, Mark, come in and we were learning about the basics of playing hockey. We started with how to hold a hockey stick properly and then practiced our dribbling skills. There are some budding hockey players in Hawks class!

Then, on Thursday we had our Alternative PE lesson where we got to have a go at playing Lacrosse. We had a great time in this session and it was interesting practicing a sport you don't see much of anymore!

On Thursday we also held a mini achievement assembly to celebrate the achievements of our friends in our class.

Towards the end of the week we wrote poems for, and practiced performing, poems for our Harvest Festival; for which a video is being put together! During Collective Worship we put on a Hillsong performance and had ourselves a mini classroom concert and even had some live dancing!

Enjoy our pictures from the week. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
