Week 3

This week the children have been busy creating and rehearsing for the harvest festival. They have taken a lot of care with their harvest art work; painting autumn style lettering and vegetable collages as well as discussing what they are thankful for.

In Literacy we have been looking at newspaper reports. We discovered the key features and found examples of these in various newspaper reports. The children then planned and wrote their own reports based on our text "Who let the gods out?"  - they wrote brilliant reports about Thanatos escaping from his prison under Stone Henge.

In Maths we have moved on to multiplication and division. We have learnt new methods and although this was tricky, everyone persevered and had positive attitudes towards their learning.

In other subjects, we had our first session with the netball coach - thoroughly enjoyed by all, wrote non-chronological reports about the Ancient Greek Olympics, sketched pot designs depicting Ancient Greek life, completed times table challenges and used page 99 to work on our prediction skills in reading.
