Week 5
In literacy this week the children have started looking at explanation texts. We looked at features of the writing style and then pretended aliens had landed and tried to explain the process of some everyday things.
In Maths we started off with coordinates. We found, plotted and wrote coordinates and then used our skills to create shapes on the grid. We then moved on to time and looked at 12 and 24 hour clocks as well as calculating the duration of events.
In other news, we continued to learn how to play samba instruments/music, we designed our monsters in DT, designed carnival costumes, pretended we had discovered an Ancient Egyptian tomb and wrote a diary entry about our experience, explored the function of roots and practiced relay in PE.
