Week 5
This week in Literacy, we started our new book 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea'. We are focusing on the narrative plot. Lessons this week were based on writing sentences by completing speech and thought bubbles for the different characters. The children have also been enjoying role playing the story in provision.
In Maths, we have been finishing the place value topic before we start addition next week. A main focus of this week was looking at ordinal numbers- which the children picked up very quickly.
In Geography, we continued to follow Buddy the Bee around the world, this time going to the United States of America in North America. In Art, the children completed their Christmas card designs based on the carol 'Little Donkey'. In PE we have been started to pull together all the football skills we have been learning.
This week saw us taking part in the Harvest Festival. The children did amazingly well and sang loud enough for everyone to hear! They enjoyed watching the other performances and talking with the Year 4 children on the walk over to the church.
