Week 6

In literacy we had our final lessons on nonsense poetry.  The children can identify and apply language play features really well and have written some super poems.

In maths we continued with fractions moving on to equivalent fractions. Lots of work using fractions walls to help us with identifying and comparing fractions with different denominators.

In other news:

It was time for this half terms class competition in PE - the children competed in football skills relay races with a focus on control. It was lovely to see how supportive of each other they are - great sportsmanship. It turned out to be a very arty week. They completed their mosaics in art and they look great with lots of colour and patterns, in RE they painted their responses to the weeks focus question and in geography they created tropical collages inspired by South American artists.  We began to look at skeletons in science and tried to identify animals from their bones - super investigation skills.

We have reached the last week of this half term. It has been a busy half term but the children have all worked really hard a deserve a week off to have fun. See you next half term - keep up the good work.
