Week 6

Christian value: hope

Learning behaviour: confident

It was good to meet you this week at our parents meetings. I hope you found them informative and useful.

We have concluded our narrative unit In Literacy with some super story writing. I have been so impressed with the children’s focus and how they have taken on board the guidance and suggestions for how to make these the very best they can; A special mention for the exceptional efforts with handwriting!

We completed two weeks of developing our subtraction skills. This is definitely a work in progress but we had some real successes with using a number line carefully to subtract as well as finding ‘fact families’ such as:

2+3=5, 3+2=5, 5-3=2, 5-2=3

Please keep practising maths whizz. I have set it to the topic of 'solving problems' this week as this is an area children do find an additional challenge.

In computing, we met some brand new friends the bee bots and blue bot and have begun to explore how to program them in with algorithms.

In art we looked at the work of ‘Paul Klee’ whose preferred medium was watercolour paint. We followed careful instructions to create our own background which we will complete next week.
