Another jam packed week! The children must be tired but have been brilliant!
Finishing up with non-chronological reports in Literacy, we wrote about how HWCE celebrates Christmas! Lots to write about there and the kids were able to concentrate on including the correct features.
In maths we focused on problem solving and reasoning across the main calculation methods. We unpicked word problems and made sure we knew how to check our answers effectively. The children then completed a variety of maths problems (Christmas themed of course).
On Tuesday we visited the Royal Star and Garter home. The children sang and spoke to the residents and had an excellent time. They were a credit to the school and to their parents. For more pictures and information please see the Citizenship section of our class page.
We also had our Carol Service this week. Many of the class were in the choir and orchestra which was lovely to see. The whole class put in lots of effort to give their best performance. Well done.
In other news: we had our volleyball class competition, made our sandwiches in DT, started to create our Christmas cards, made storyboards to show how fossils are formed, wrote Christmas calligrams and wrote poems to explain what gift we would give the world at Christmas!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
