Week 6

This week‘s learning behaviour has been focusing on being self motivated.  I am very pleased with the way the children have developed their effort with this during the week, despite seemingly being ready for a good rest over the half term!

They have once again risen to the challenge of being authors, completing their own counting stories with a repeating pattern in the same style as Handa’s Hen. I have enjoyed reading them and was delighted they kept me entertained with some lovely adjectives and different sentence starters. They were all very unique!

In maths we have introduced multiplication concepts including identifying patterns with counting in fives and tens and making and adding equal groups. We have also been getting to grips with the vocabulary of ‘lots of’ and ‘groups of’ as well as ‘repeated addition’ and ‘multiplying’!

We have continued investigating materials in Science, using the instruments to represent story elements in Music, creating map symbols in Geography and creating Kandinsky inspired painting in art.

Safer internet Day helped us to understand that it is good to express ourselves and have our own preferences but we should not share personal information online.

Wishing you all a fun, healthy and restful half term!

PS.....we’re halfway through year one!
