Week 6
In Literacy, we began a new book 'The Colour Monster' which links to our PSHE topic, thinking about identifying emotions and how they make our bodies feel. The children created calm jars with suggestions of ways to calm down or stay relaxed. In Maths, we have continued looking at place value to 50, with a particular focus on identifying tens and ones.
On Tuesday, the children took part in Safer Internet Day. We talked about how we can be safe online and who we can talk to if we are unsure about using computers or the internet. The children particularly enjoyed creating avatars and usernames for game characters, and sharing their key messages from the day about staying safe online.
In Art, we have been looking at Wassily Kandinsky. This week the children had a go at painting a version of Kandinsky's circles painting using watercolours. In Geography, we looked at the season of Winter. The children used their knowledge from Geography this term to write a non-chronological report on the seasons.
