Week 6 (30.3.20)

Dear Year 1,

I hope you are enjoying spending more time with your family as we all get used to this different way of life for a while.  It certainly seems strange not to see your lovely smiley faces every day and feel the energy you all bring to the classroom!  I hope that you are all doing ok, and are holding onto your positive mindsets whilst we all look after one another by staying at home.

I have enjoyed being able to see your maths whizz and am very impressed by lots of your efforts.  I hope you all managed to do the other daily tasks.  There are some changes to this week's work, please take a look below at the new daily learning list for your parents to help you manage each day.  If you are interested in other things to do, I have added some suggestions to the 'other things to try' folder.  Some are things you can do by yourself and some could involve your family too.  You might make your own bag of 'challenges' on little pieces of paper and choose 1 or 2 a day to try.  This could be anything from making and eating an indoor picnic, creating a junk model from containers in your recycling box or listening to a piece of music you haven't heard before.  I have also added a 'phonics and reading' folder which has links that I hope you will be able to enjoy!

I know that it is different learning from home, but please try your best to complete what I have set you to do on the daily tasks so that you don't forget what you have learnt so far and continue to learn. I'm sure your family will help you if you are unsure but try to be independent as much as possible once tasks have been explained - just as you try to be in class!

Don't forget to spend some time doing other things you enjoy, or perhaps you will learn a new skill, as well as helping your family too of course, as they will have their own challenges. I can't wait to hear what you have been up to when we all return to school.

Keep your eye on this page on Monday for your 'holiday homework' too.  I hope this gives you some ideas for things you might do during the 2 week Easter holiday!

Take care,

from

Mrs Kemp
