Week 7

This week in Literacy, we finished our learning on 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' by the children writing their own stories about an animal that came to tea. Linking to Black History Month, the children gave speeches to the class about their heritage and culture. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their culture and hearing about others in the class. They showed a great class spirit and cheered on any that were a little nervous.

In Maths, we are continuing looking at addition and subtraction. We have been recapping number bonds to 5 and 10, writing number sentences and finding out about fact families.

In Art, we have learnt about Pablo Picasso and his cubist portraits. The children really enjoyed creating these and had some fantastic outcomes! In Science, the children went on a Autumn Walk to find signs of Autumn relating to what they have learnt this half term. We completed the Geography topic by following Buddy to Antarctica, where the children designed a flag for Antarctica. We also learnt about road safety in winter, in readiness for dressing up for 'Be Bright, Be Seen' Friday. In PE, we had a class competition showcasing our football skills from this half term.

Have a restful half term!
