Week 7
In Literacy, we closed our unit on 'The Colour Monster' by finding new words to describe emotions and writing about these using comparisons. In Maths, we are nearing the end of the unit on place value to 50 before we move onto weight and height.
PE outside was rained off this week, so instead WWFC ran an indoor team building session. The children had great fun working out the problem as a team and crossing the 'river of lava'! The children also took part in a class competition this week, bringing together their learning from the multi skills topic. In RE, Year 1 discussed what made Jesus a good friend and how we can mirror that in our everyday lives. In Geography, we brought our learning to a close by comparing the changes across the seasons, focusing on weather, trees and activities.
On Tuesday afternoon, the children were visited by Rabbi Zvi who came into talk to the children about Shabbat and Pass over, ready for our new Judaism topic after half term. They also had the opportunity to sample some Jewish food- which they thoroughly enjoyed!
