We have reached our last full week of the Autumn term so we have been completing our final lessons on this terms topics.
We have responded to reflection questions in history and geography lessons as well as writing poems about the weather, identifying types of fossils and playing our recorders. We have also practiced a game of volleyball, started making Christmas cards for our citizenship project and written Christmas shape poems.
We have had a week of Christmas themed maths focusing on problem solving. They have been attempting lots of Christmas maths problems and trying to apply all their knowledge from the term to find out things such as:
How many animals were in the 12 days of Christmas and who stole the presents?
In Literacy we have finished our non-chronological reports about how we celebrate Christmas at High Wycombe C of E.
In other areas... some children visited Shelbourne lodge with our early years class to meet the residents and sing them some Christmas carols. Everyone enjoyed their Christmas dinner together - crackers were pulled, many a terrible joke told, chocolate was covering faces and even a few brussle sprouts were eaten. The Carol service in All Saints church was brilliant and the children had a lovely time- they all said they felt extra Christmassy when then left.
